Stephen P. Sinisi is the founding and managing member of the firm. Mr. Sinisi graduated from Rutgers University School of Law in 1972 and thereafter was admitted to the New Jersey Bar that same year. Mr. Sinisi is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Sinisi’s practice areas include zoning, land use and development, tax appeals, municipal and government law, civil and chancery litigation, and appellate practice.
Mr. Sinisi currently serves as East Rutherford’s Special Counsel (since 2005) and Tax Appeals Counsel (since 2008). Previously, Mr. Sinisi served as the General Counsel for the Bergen County Utilities Authority (1983-2004), as well as special counsel (February 2004-2017), and has also previously served as Borough Attorney for various municipalities, including Palisades Park, Leonia, Dumont, and as interim Borough Attorney in Hasbrouck Heights. Mr. Sinisi has also served as the Planning Board Attorney for Fairview and Hillsdale and as Prosecutor and Municipal Court Judge for the Township of Rochelle Park.
Mr. Sinisi served as a panelist at the First Annual U.S.E.P.A. Solid Waste Conference on the topic “Border Wars, Interstate Transportation of Solid Waste” in Washington, D.C. He was also a speaker at the Solid Waste Association of North America-Florida Sunshine Chapter, Inc. in Key West, Florida on the topic “Flow Control Under Siege: A Perspective on C. & A. Carbone, Inc., et al. v. Town of Clarkstown, U.S. Supreme Court, 91-1402”. Mr. Sinisi has served as a speaker for the Bergen County Bar Association, Land Use Section at the Bergen County Land Use Symposium, at Bergen County Community College in Paramus.
Mr. Sinisi is occasionally appointed by the Superior Court as condemnation commissioner, special fiscal agent and/or receiver for various properties or entities involved in significant business disputes among the principals of varied business entities.
